IRELAND - UK
Ireland and the UK seen an unusual number of easterly outbreaks last Winter and now here we are wondering what way Winter 2013/2014 will go.
While Winter 2011/2012 was very mild for Ireland and the UK you may have read in one of the many places where I have stated that colder Winters tend to come in bunches but some of the mildest known Winters can get caught up in the middle.
Joe Bastardi (a well respected long range forecaster from the US) along with many more including Piers Corbyn of the UK say we have now entered a period where 30 years of global cooling is underway. Also, my good friend Ulric Lyons (a highly respected solar based, long range forecaster from the UK) whom many of you will have come across from time to time on my pages, has said to me that he thinks some of the coldest years of this century may be well to come in the next decade !
After 6 of the last 7 Winters being colder than normal in both Ireland and the UK , and the terribly wet Summers of recent times, it certainly looks like we are going through a major cooling trend. I think the freezes during the Winters of ’09/’10 and ’10/’11 are just the beginning of what’s to come and as I have stated on many occasions before, I think the big one for Ireland and the UK is yet to come with easterlies not coming from Russia but from China and prevailing half way across the Atlantic, dragging half of Russia with them perhaps ? But could it be 2013/2014 ?? Interesting indeed !
So there y’all go. Plenty for the cold and snow lovers to look forward too and plenty for the snow and cold haters to shiver about. Winter 2013/2014 outlooks and discussion will be coming soon on Reality Weather !
